Farrin x FOMO in Toronto

On May 2, we brought On the Road to Buddies in Bad Times Theatre for INHERITANCE, a collaboration event with FOMO. FOMO is an events org based in Toronto that is aiming to create spaces for BIPOC queer communities through art, collaboration and conversation. This is a partnership and event weโ€™ve been super excited about and weโ€™re beyond proud of the turn out. We sold out the event AND the afterparty!

Major thank you’s to FOMO, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, our hosts, artists, and sponsors for helping make this such a success.
Hosts: Carol Douse of Oldowan Co. and Kingsley Swimm of The Framework
DJs: DJ Shannyn Hill and DJ Young Zee
Artists: Davyd-Paul Alberts, Kailey, Imani Edwards, and Tyrone Mckie

With DJs and dancing the event created another opportunity to introduce new audiences to Farrin and continue growing the community around itโ€ฆ now beyond the US and into Canada, as well.

This event also marked an important step for On the Road as we begin expanding beyond our NY and NYC roots now into Canada. Weโ€™re global now!

Head over to Instagram and TikTok for more moments from INHERITANCE!

Location Scouting in Jamaica

Alongside Farrin’s events series, Danielle Fuller, our director, has also been in Jamaica working on location scouting for the film.

This trip has included everything from conversations with the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport and meeting with our actors to location scouting around the island. This part of the process is important to identify the spaces and places that reflect how weโ€™re trying to tell this story as well as connecting with local government to see if there are any resources available to position the film in the best way possible for success.

What’s Next

Weโ€™ve got more events coming up this summer and a really exciting partnership weโ€™re eager to share soon.

Hold some time for us during Pride Month in NYC, we know youโ€™re bound to have a good time. In the meantime, we’re excited to share our upcoming event in partnership with WXXI Rochester on July 23 at 6pm for our final event in the On the Road series!
