Eby Nelson
Eby Nelson is a Jamaican poet, writer, linguist, and emerging screenwriter who is deeply committed to telling authentic, underrepresented Caribbean stories. A lifelong storyteller, Eby began writing in childhood, developing a distinct narrative voice and a sensitivity to the unspoken. Eby is a 2023 recipient of the National Library of Jamaica Young Writers Award for Poetry and was awarded a scholarship to attend PREE Magazine’s inaugural Writing Studio in 2024. She is passionate about expanding the representation of Jamaican life across literature and screen. Her unique perspective, exploration of style and voice, and established foundation in language and writing leave an indelible impression in any space she enters.
As she continues developing Farrin and exploring the craft of screenwriting, Eby is excited to further her skills and deepen her contribution to Caribbean storytelling through programs like the WIFTJa Screenwriting Accelerator.
